Just wanted to say a belated merry christmas to everyone and wish you a happy holiday. I am still working on save game functionality. It is progressing fine, but as mentioned a bit dull. The code will also form an important part of the multiplayer code, so it will be nice to get this chunk done.
I have also added a “generic” fantasy language, so there should be no more “Placeholder” names, and added the option to rename regiments. A new terrain type, Basalt Plains, is in, but it is pretty rare. I hope to have a new build ready tomorrow – also with some more descriptive text for various upgrades/abilities/traits/etc.
One thing I have been wondering as of late, is whether the Wizard/Warlord should represented by a hero instead of just being an abstraction as it is now. It would add some more gameplay options, and also some testers seem to be confused by starting with a hero who is not their Wizard/Warlord. I will probably add this change along with some traits for having Wizards who are somehow confined to their tower, either permanently or until a specific condition is met. If you have any thoughts on this, please feel free to share them, I am quite interested in hearing what people might think of this.
