Currently working on settlements (villages, cities) and population tracking. Population units, which have a race, culture, religion and a type (farmers, fishermen, monks, nomads, slaves, etc.) are tracked for each settlement (urban population) and for each hex (rural population). Settlement is the new term for villages and cities, the two concepts which I have coalesced into a single one – making the code cleaner, and also making growth of settlements more logical.
As part of this the world generation needs to populate the world with these population units, so I am also working on more elaborate code for this part of the world generation. I hope to have an update ready with this early next week.
