Just a little note that there is still progress despite the lull in updates. I have had some distractions slowing me down, as those are wont to do. But in a few days there should be a new build with the first version of the Regiment Designer UI. This can be used to create custom regiment types, using a template based on a nearby culture and then choosing weapons and armor, as well special options based on research, like Mark of Fire for some extra fire splash damage, or Mark of Stone for extra toughness.
The same UI will also be used to create custom golems and other constructs, so that research and resources can be used to tailor forces specificially to match whatever enemy the wizard faces. Or create magical beasts, like Giant Storm Bears or Dire Toads (with a Mark of Fire for good measure). And in time also be the interface used by the more esoteric of wizards who dabble in lifeshaping, creating strange and unnatural magical creatures.
After this, it will be on to balancing and enhancing the early game experience and adding some more minor and/or temporary AI faction to deal with to keep the game interesting until it enters a phase where conflict ensues with a rival faction of equal power.
