New build, with bug fixes, improved army display and some work on… workers! The bug fixes are mostly related to incorrect UI behavior and hangs caused by the UI. Army display allows you to inspect an army and see details about the units in it. This is also where you can appoint a general from among your followers.
As befits the date, worker mechanics have been expanded. Workers will produce additional food, gold and/or trade goods when assigned to your tower. The exact output depends on their skills and can be seen in the assignment dialog. They also have an upkeep now – unless they are undead or magical constructs. An event has been added where workers demand more pay, and you risk desertion or riots if you do not agree. Depending on alignment, you will have expanded options on how to deal with this.
The base gold/mana/influence production has been adjusted to make the early game less crippling on finances, as upkeep for the initial army and workers could easily empty the coffers in a few turns. Starting out with a deficit is not so fun, and restricts options.
Diplomacy and city mechanics are still the focus as April is now behind us. I hope to get this finished within the next few days. The May road map will be updated soon, as there is a backlog of items originally slated for April due to the Unity port eating into time for new functionality. It feels great to have the majority of this work behind me, and only a few loose ends left to tie up.
