Currently working on improving the AI. There’s a basic, active AI in place now, which will utilize followers, try to expand and conquer, react to hostile armies, research, save up for important investments, etc. With a few additional improvements to diplomatic AI, having an expansion plan and establishing spheres of influence, it will be beta ready.
I am currently on vacation, and coding in spare moments on my laptop, so I cannot record any videos until early next week. Until then I want to make a recommendation.
As some of you may know I work on Wizards & Warlords in my spare time (I have a full-time job as a developer during the day), and I have a family to spend time with and take care of. I also have a few other hobbies apart from this project (including trying to teach myself drawing and digital art), and it is probably no surprise that gaming is among them. Passion for gaming is a big part of why I am making this game in the first place.
Anyways, I digress. What I wanted to do was recommend a really great indie game, currently in Early Access. It’s called Battle Brothers, and it’s developed by Overhype Studios. Despite the Early Access status, it’s playable from start to finish, and not only that – I think it’s one of the best turn-based tactical games ever. These guys have made something that even in an unfinished state is extremely fun. Updates are regular and the game is very stable.
So if you’re looking for a turn-based tactical game in a low-fantasy/dark medieval milieu, with a very good management and sandbox exploration game on top of it, head over to Overhype Studios (or find the game on Steam), and give it a try. I am extremely surprised that such a great game hasn’t gotten more hype yet.
